Providing hands-on learning experiences in state-of-the-art facilities

The North Central Trade Training Centre (NCTTC) provides start-of-the-art vocational educational and training facilities to meet the needs of students in Years 9 to 12.

Based in Charlton, the NCTTC is a partnership of nine local schools (Boort District School, Charlton P-12 College, Donald High School, East Loddon P-12, Pyramid Hill P-10 College, St. Arnaud Secondary College, Tyrrell College, Wedderburn P-12 College and Wycheproof P-12 College).

The Centre provides specialised vocational education and training in the fields of agriculture, animal studies, automotive, building & construction, engineering, hair, beauty, community services, health, hospitality, music, and sport & recreation.

Opened in 2014, the Centre features a commercial kitchen, professional hairdressing and beauty facilities, a community services hub, sport and recreational amenities, an animal nursery, agriculture facilities, an automotive workshop, a construction workshop and building area, an engineering workshop, and specialist allied health facilities.

The facility is a significant boost for education in our local communities whereby it guarantees rural students having access to modern facilities and equipment to undertake courses in areas of local skills shortages.

This includes the delivery Certificate II and III qualifications in Community Services, Agriculture, Allied Health, Automotive, Construction, Engineering, Hairdressing, and Hospitality. Other subjects available to students include Animal Studies, Beauty and Sport & Recreation.

North Central students in years 10 to 12 have the opportunity to undertake VET as part of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Year 9 students undertake elective subjects through the North Central Trades Training Centre based at Charlton.
