22470VIC – Certificate II in Engineering Studies aims to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to achieve units of competence that will enhance their employment prospects in a broad range of Engineering Industries; and enable participants to gain a recognised credential and make a more informed choice of vocational and career paths.

VU22329 Report on a range of sectors in the manufacturing, engineering and related industries (Core)
VU22330 Select and interpret drawings and prepare three dimensional (3D) sketches and drawings (Core)
VU22331 Perform basic machining processes (Core)
VU22332 Apply basic fabrication techniques (Core)
MEM18002B Use power tools/hand held operation (Elective)
VU22336 Perform metal fabrication operations (Elective)

Year 2
MEMPE006A Undertake a basic engineering project (Core)
VU22333 Perform intermediate engineering computations (Elective)
VU22334 Produce basic engineering components and products using fabrication and machining operations (Elective)

    NB: Students completing this course will need to complete all Core units and a minimum of 4 elective units to be awarded the full Certificate. A total of 360 nominal hours is required for VCAA Unit 1, 2, 3 & 4 credits.
