• Greet and prepare clients for salon services

• Maintain infection control standards

• Sell to the retail customer

• Use electric file equipment for nail services

• Apply cosmetic tanning products

• Apply gel and dip powder nail enhancements

• Maintain ethical and professional standards when using social media and online platforms

• Design and apply make-up

• Apply safe hygiene, health and work practices

• Conduct salon financial transactions

• Provide salon services to clients

• Comply with organisational requirements within a personal services environment

• Research and apply beauty industry information

• Provide manicure and pedicure services

• Advise on beauty products and services

• Provide lash and brow services

• Provide waxing services

• Pierce ear lobes

VCE & ATAR Contribution:

Students who receive a VCE VET Units 3 & 4 sequence for Beauty Services will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10 per cent of the lowest study score of the primary four studies). This subject is not available for VCE scored assessment.

Structured Workplace Learning:

Structured Work placement is strongly recommended.
